A Fed Rate Cut in September Would Be Political
The CME’s "FedWatch Tool” is wrong about a Fed Rate cut in September. Unemployment would have to further soften in a pronounced manner in order for the Fed to cut rates in September during an election year. If the economic status quo holds, the Fed will not cut rates in September. To do so would be political. This weak Fed/FOMC would further lose credibility.
