Agentic AI Is Here
I recently wrote that Developers may be the big Agentic AI winners. That increasingly looks to be the case given the recent spate of Agentic AI news.
My sense is that we are not far from Agentic AI capabilities being extended to the business user (today, Agentic AI is largely the purview of the Developer community). This means the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) companies ought to embrace the leading LLMs capable of performing agentic tasks. Otherwise, the RPA companies run the risk of getting run over by the LLM companies as I believe the LLM companies will evolve Agentic AI capabilities faster than the RPA companies can evolve their automation capabilities. In other words, the RPA companies ought to consider swapping out their automation IP for the Agentic AI capability being developed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Microsoft. The RPA companies could focus on the UI/UX in order to maximize the business user experience.
Below are three YouTube demos of Agentic AI use cases from Anthropic, one of the frontier LLM builders (Amazon ought to move to acquire Anthropic). Anthropic’s APIs are in the public domain:
