AI Regulation Is Bad for Growth
I think investors are starting to figure out that U.S. Government regulation of the AI industry is negative for innovation and growth.
Anthropic’s Mythos is nowhere in sight, OpenAI’s Codex 5.6 release is likely stalled as the Trump Admin sticks its hands in the AI pot.
Trump & Co. are pushing people and companies to use opensource models, most of them from China.
I started to set up Z.ai’s GLM 5.2 model earlier today and will begin testing later this week.
GLM 5.2 and DeepSeek v4 were both optimized for Huawei’s Ascend chips.
GLM 5.2 did not use NVIDIA (NVDA) hardware anywhere in training. DeepSeek did use some NVDA chips. Chinese opensource models are a negative for NVDA as the company will play second fiddle to Huawei, when it has an opportunity to play.
