AI Strategy: Software as a Container (SaaC)
Part II: More on Codex 5.3
One go-to-market approach that I know some Software companies are considering and that all are likely to consider would be to present customers two options:
Option 1.) Continue to subscribe to our Software “as is”,
Option 2.) Subscription covers an application toolkit where the data layer, the middleware, the security layer all go inside the Software company’s container, and the customer designs a custom User Interface with AI tools for small dollars. The Software company handles 95% of the cost on a go-forward basis (doing the hard stuff), while the customer maintains the UI.

I refactored a CEORater back-end file with 3,000 lines of code using Codex. It took Codex approximately 3 hours to build the test environment and refactor the code. I’ll will review as I have time, but smoke tests that Codex performed all came back clean.
