Apple and Amazon in A Gen AI Partnership?
While there are more Android devices globally than iOS devices, Apple’s iPhone remains the most popular phone. However, it is a shame that Apple does not have a proprietary Gen AI offering given that the iPhone is ubiquitous.
Apple unfortunately has not developed AI muscle the way Google has (since the company’s inception) or the way Microsoft and Amazon have.
Amazon is an interesting potential Gen AI partner for Apple. Amazon and Apple could help each other using a JV structure that would leverage AWS’ Gen AI expertise and Apple’s balance sheet. Apple could tightly integrate AWS’ Gen AI output into the iPhone and other devices. This is but one idea as to how Tim Cook could better leverage Apple’s balance sheet. I look at Apple and I see wasted opportunity.
