Apple's Future Is Unclear
I have not paid attention to this week’s WWDC. While it is a blessing that Apple (AAPL) will have a product CEO taking over from Tim Cook, Apple’s future is unclear to me. AAPL missed the AI boat, the best engineers no longer work there, and the Chinese make better phones at a better price.
The most interesting thing will be how Apple integrates Google’s AI capability into its hardware and software. Siri seems to be dead and gone, but perhaps Google will revive the old gray Siri.
I struggle with accepting apps as they are today carrying forth 20 years from now. I believe app developers will evolve to become API providers and MCP server builders whose products will feed “Super-Apps” run by Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. I’m not sure that Apple will have a seat at that table.
