Disney Names I-Banker Gorman as Chairman. Is A Sale A Step Closer?
For 5-6 years I have advocated for the sale of Disney (DIS) to one of the large platform Technology companies (AAPL, AMZN, YouTube/GOOG, Xbox/MSFT) as streaming is a scale game. Disney lacks the requisite scale. I could say the same for WBD, which is likely why the two companies are partnering on a sports streaming service - Venu Sports.
Today DIS named Morgan Stanley Chairman James Gorman as its next Chairman effective January 1st, 2025. Perhaps a Disney sale is a step closer with Gorman’s appointment? I hope so for Disney shareholders.
