Epstein’s Ghost
Jeffrey Epstein’s ghost is making it uncomfortable for many high profile and not so high profile people as the courts prepare to make Epstein’s unredacted contact list public.
Corporate Governance is a key element on the CEORater side of our business. The world is full of mediocre CEOs – both on the private company side as well as the public company side. Why any board would suffer mediocrity is difficult for me to understand. However, when it comes to downright awful people, why suffer them even for a nano second? For example, we told you that former Barclay’s CEO Jes Staley was a piece of crap way back on February 13th 2020. Who in their right mind would hang out with a known sex offender – Jeffrey Epstein – and maintain a relationship with that person post-conviction? Jes Staley did on both counts. Staley eventually left Barclay’s in November 2021, but why the long wait? What took Barclay’s Board so long? Don’t be Barclay’s Board if you have a Jes Staley situation on your hands. Grow a backbone.
Epstein’s redacted contact list has been public for some time (HERE). Anybody doing business with people named on the deceased’s contact list ought to have a conversation with that person. Particularly corporate Boards and anyone in a fiduciary position whom owes it to their clients to perform due diligence on people/investment opportunities.
Epstein’s redacted list is littered with names across Entertainment, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Finance, Retail and Politics to name a few industries.
Corporate boards, investors, entrepreneurs, investment committees and the like should not assume anything about names on the list. Do the diligence. Contact us if you require diligence assistance.
