Fed Minutes Are A Public Show
With respect to the Fed’s minutes, people incorrectly assume they are getting inside information as to the Fed’s thinking much like one would glean by sitting in on a corporate board meeting. That is not the case. The Fed knows its FOMC meeting minutes will be public, and therefore the public minutes are positioned for a public audience.
