Gen AI: Microsoft, Google and Adobe
Microsoft, Google and Adobe will be the three big users of Gen AI at the application layer.
Microsoft has integrated OpenAI’s LLMs into its various Productivity applications. This will be an ongoing process. Gen AI capabilities will improve as OpenAI’s LLMs evolve and improve.
Google similarly is integrating its proprietary LLMs into its various Productivity applications. Google rolled out its latest LLM - Gemini 1.5 - earlier this week. My view is that Google’s LLMs have caught up with ChatGPT/OpenAI/Microsoft from a capability standpoint and will eventually surpass OpenAI in the near future. Google is developing its own LLM chips. Meanwhile, OpenAI’s Sam Altman is floating the idea of raising $5-7 trillion to build chip production capability. Altman is a distracted and delusional CEO.
Adobe has integrated Gen AI into its creative product portfolio. Adobe leverages OpenAI’s LLMs via Azure given Adobe’s partnership with Microsoft.
Gen AI at scale. At the Gen AI infrastructure layer, Nvidia, OpenAI/Microsoft, Amazon and Google are assembling Gen AI building blocks at scale. Commercial customers access this Gen AI capability through Azure (MSFT), AWS (AMZN) and Google Cloud Platform (GOOGL). Big fish get bigger.
