Google's Gemini Is The Top LLM
Google - the AI King - ground it out and its latest Gemini model is the top LLM. You may view the Chatbot Arena Leaderboard below. The fact that Gemini is fully integrated with Google Cloud provides a strategic advantage as compared to OpenAI and Anthropic who depend on partners for service delivery. This is an enormous advantage for Google.
Gemini is king. Google now leads OpenAI and Anthropic at the thing they do best - building LLMs.
Google Cloud provides a sustainable, competitive advantage for Gemini.
Google importantly owns its proprietary cloud service which delivers Gemini, whereas OpenAI is dependent upon Azure and Anthropic is dependent upon AWS. Similarly, Azure and AWS depend upon OpenAI and Anthropic respectively for LLM capability. Oracle is in a similar pinch where its cloud services depend upon Cohere’s LLMs for Gen AI capability.
Google’s ability to tightly integrate Gemini with Google Cloud will provide performance advantages versus the OpenAI Microsoft partnership as well as the Anthropic AWS partnership. Partnering simply does not offer the same level of control as does ownership. Product roadmaps may differ when two partners are involved, strategic priorities may differ, operating strategies may differ, financial priorities may differ. This is why I have always preferred M&A to technology partnerships.
