I Would Not Invest in A Sam Altman Company
Sam Altman has a character flaw around telling the truth. First, lying to his Board, which is a non-starter as far as I am concerned. Second, Altman’s crappy behavior as outlined by the actress Scarlett Johansson in her open letter below speaks to a low character guy.
Let’s see if Altman survives, or if MSFT will ultimately acquire OpenAI. I believe that MSFT prefers to control OpenAI from a distance as Microsoft does not wish to consolidate OpenAI onto its P&L or Balance Sheet given that OpenAI would hurt MSFT’s profitability.
