Intel an Acquisition Target?
Perhaps Broadcom (AVGO) would move to acquire Intel (INTC). Perhaps AMD (AMD) would work to create a merger of equals. I’m not so sure.
I would not touch INTC. Intel has a broken culture. If anything, Intel will lose market share in the coming years. Why would a strategic acquirer poison the well by acquiring Intel? With respect to Private Equity, ditto. Why pursue a market share losing company when the cost to fix it will be enormous both in terms of capital requirements and human effort?
