LLMs at the Office
As I think about LLMs deployed within the Enterprise - the user’s habits are tied to the application. For example, the user only knows his/her Oracle or SAP application for Financials and does not give a thought to the underlying LLM. The same rule holds for Marketing, Customer Service, HRMS and ITSM applications.
This is not the case with developers building those applications. Anthropic’s Claude family is the preferred LLM for software developers as they produce and maintain software code.
Over time we will likely see other proprietary and open source models excel at specific functional use cases within the Enterprise, thereby providing a demonstrably better ROI for that use case (which will drive users to that LLM and its related applications and agents). However, at the moment LLMs are largely commoditized.
