Oracle's Moving HQ To Nashville Is One of The Smartest Strategic Moves in Recent Memory
Oracle’s decision to move global HQ to Nashville is highly strategic and has largely flown under the radar. Tennessee is less tax onerous than Texas (Oracle is currently HQ’d in Austin). More importantly, Oracle’s 2022 acquisition of Nashville-based Cerner significantly strengthened Oracle’s position in the healthcare vertical. I can’t think of a more strategic vertical than healthcare. To effectively compete with AWS, Google Cloud and Azure in healthcare, Oracle will have to invest in its healthcare vertical from a product, services and partnership standpoint (Nashville has long been the healthcare services capital of the United States). Healthcare ought to be the vertical that makes or breaks Oracle.
