Sam Altman Is Delusional
Sam Altman should spend more time driving operations at OpenAI and less time talking about his desire to raise $5-7 Trillion for a new chip company. Multiple companies and countries are never going to come together and pool that kind of capital toward a shared chip design/production effort led by Sam. Chips are simply too strategic for sharing. The bleeding edge chip effort will be led by Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD and Huawei over time. I’m sure there are large Chinese technology companies other than Huawei that are also designing proprietary chips.
Blockchain networks and Quantum Computing would each add more economic value than Gen AI applications in my view. Let’s generate more buzz and find more capital to deploy Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT/Blockchain), across everyday use cases and to manufacture commercialized quantum computers.
