This deal represents a missed opportunity for Disney (DIS), Google (GOOGL), Apple (AAPL), Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD), Amazon (AMZN) and Comcast (CMCSA), all of whom value live sports. It makes far more strategic sense to own live sports content (TKO Group in this case, the parent to UFC and WWE), than to write ever larger broadcast license checks every 5-7 years.
