Were REAL Retail and Food Services Sales Up?

The percentage increases in the Census Bureau’s Retail and Food Services Sales press release are based on Nominal sales figures.

• If one was to strip out CPI, the Sales figures would not be as attractive.

• If one was to strip out actual real-world price increases, I am not sure that the figures would remain in positive territory.

• Lots of smoke and mirrors in the various Government survey data releases. Hopefully people see through it.
