Who Watches The Watchmen? RouteLLM and LLM Routing
RouteLLM is an open source framework for cost-effective LLM routing. Take the example of an AI-powered software development system:
A group of AI agents writes code for a particular software application. Within that group, different agents have different software development tasks.
A second group of AI agents performs quality control on the code written by the first group.
A third group of AI agents observe the software development process. The third group is tasked with optimizing the development process to gain greater efficiency (perhaps the third group runs simulations to identify the process that results in the optimal output).
These AI agents need to be trained by humans. The example I provided above is a simple example. Imagine the complexity when there are many groups of AI agents all performing different tasks. Will humans be able to understand and audit the work performed by the AI agents? This is a real risk.
